Do direct veneer restorations last longer than indirect veneer restorations on anterior teeth?

Are direct composite restorations as effective as full cast crowns in patients with endodontically treated premolars?

• No. After 3 years of service, the survival rate of direct composite restorations was equivalent to that of full cast crowns. (Evidence level 2). Read the abstract.
  

Do IPS-Empress ceramic restorations have a good survival rate for anterior restorations?

• Yes. 90-95% 5-year survival for anteriors. . Although no long-term information is available for posterior crowns, inlays and onlays had the same survival rates as anteriors. Read the abstract.

Are patients as satisfied with dentures made with stock trays, no face-bow and monoplane articulators as with traditional dentures?

• Yes. At 3 and 6 months, satisfaction was equal for simplified techniques. Read the abstract.

Do denture occlussion schemes affect patient satisfaction?   

• Yes. Some evidence indicates that prosthetic posterior teeth with cusps, rather than cuspless teeth, improve patient satisfaction. (Evidence level 1). Read the abstract.

Do implant-supported dentures provide improvement in social and sexual activities compared to conventional dentures?    

• Yes. Oral health impact profile (OHIP) and social impact questionnaire (SIQ) scores were significantly better for implant-supported denture patients. (Evidence level 1). Read the abstract.
  

Is there is difference in patient satisfaction between implant-retained or conventional dentures?  

• Yes.  There was greater pre/post-treatment change in Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) for individuals with implants than those without. However, patients without implants had better initial scores. (Evidence level 1). Read the abstract.
